BlackBerry Ltd. today announced the launch of CylanceMDR Pro, a new managed detection and response service built on its artificial intelligence-powered Open XDR platform.
The new service is designed to tackle the challenges of modern cybersecurity by overcoming the operational burden facing security teams that must defend against increasingly sophisticated adversaries across expanding attack surfaces.
CylanceMDR Pro is being pitched as an ideal solution for growing businesses looking to advance their cybersecurity capabilities quickly without having to overhaul their existing security infrastructure or, alternatively, having to hire additional analysts and threat hunters. The service’s extended detection and response architecture integrates with existing security tools to provide deep visibility across an existing IT setup without the need to replace existing tools.
The new MDR service includes over 300 platform integrations, allowing users to transform their existing data and applications into powerful security sensors that detect threats that other solutions might miss. CylanceMDR Pro pulls telemetry from all potential attack surfaces, including endpoint, network, cloud, software-as-a-service, identity and email to accurately detect attack signals, delivering higher fidelity detections and a rapid response to threats.
CylanceMDR Pro is powered by Cylance AI, BlackBerry’s existing predictive AI that it claims has consistently outperformed other leading AIs in third-party testing. Cylance AI uses its intelligence to analyze telemetry for attack signals, prioritize and present structured cases for faster human-led investigation and response and to stop attacks before damage can occur.
“The effectiveness of any MDR depends heavily on its underlying platform, its experts and the full breadth of services delivered,” Nathan Jenniges, senior vice president and general manager of BlackBerry Cybersecurity, said in a statement. “Our AI-driven approach, combined with our expert security team, delivers unmatched protection and peace of mind, allowing businesses to focus on what they do best.”
CylanceMDR Pro will be available to existing and new BlackBerry customers starting July 31.
